My uncle is taking Sinement for his PD only. and he have asked to get him
any information about it.

1) I noticed that the Drug book (Complete guide to Prescription & Non
prescription Drugs) mention two brand name "Sinemet" and "Sinemet CR", any idea
what the difference since only "CR" is different what does it mean?

2) Sinement is listed under Carbidopa and Levodopa, does it mean it contain both
 ?
is it 50/50? Does dosage depend on the weight, stage of PD, or other?

3) Some people posted that they were taking other Anitparkinsonim drugs (AP) wit
 h
Sinment, the drug book state that taking other AP drugs may incread effect of
Sinement, is that mean if my uncle take for exampled Deprenyl with Sinment, his
dosage of Sinemet has to be decreased.

4) Some people mentioned Protein intake should be lowered with Sinemet, the
drug book does not mention that, However Selegiline (like Eldepryl) has such
warning (not to take any foods containing Tyramine eg. meat, cheese, wine, etc).
The question is does Sinemet has such interaction with Tyramine. Eldepryl has
also a warning against taking with other drugs such antacids, vitamins, etc..
Is it the same of Sinemet, since somebody mentioned taking B-complex.

5) The drug book mentioned that taking MAO inhibots (Eldepryl) with
Levodopa (Sinemet) may cause Sudden sever rise in boold pressure. Is this mean
no body is taking Eldepryl with Sinemet?

Any article or case study in Sinemet will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Ghassan,
