Hello... I am brand new to this list. I am a 43 year old male. First experienced symptoms in Dec.92. Foot drag..tremoring (slight)...then poor arm swing and rigidity in shoulder - all right side. June 83...ruled out brain tumor...thought may be MS.....no lesions on MRI scan. THought maybe post-polio syndrome (not diagnosed but suspected as a child).....then August 93 (note June 83 mistake above...June 93)...tentative diagnosis...."parkinson syndrome" Started on eldepryl 5mg....then sinemet cr....then parlodel 2.5 mg.. then carbido/lev 25/100....tried out these meds thru 6/94. Then 6/94 thru recently when I volunteered for a clinical trial for eldepryl, I was on permax .25 and cinemet cr (some sinemet 50/200) Now...since 4/95...I had to get off sinemet cr....I'm on sinemet 25/250 - 6 half pills a day...and permax .25 - 4 and 1/2 pills a day. And I'm starting tomorrow the eldepryl/or placebo...and will diary almost daily..on/off periods and dyskinesia. 4 more visits over the next 6 weeks. I have no pain. On periods are functionally normal..Off periods are characterized by leg drag, tremors and rigidity -right side only. I maintain my job without interruption (fortunately a rather seden-\ tiary one. And I am looking forward to a contributing future and a nice and rewarding association with this group.. Thank you for your interest.
