Hi, Just wanted to send a comment re the email above. I am a new member to this list group and am incredibly impressed, excited, overwhelmed and most other adjectives you can think of with this list. The incredible power of exchanging information from one patient to another or PD family member to another is a wonderfull feeling. It is a service like this that I feel will be key in finding cures for our diseases, for providing comfort to patients and hope for families. The availibilty of information and exchange of experiences helps ensure our medical providers provide nothing less than the best support possible. The "information highway" allows us to be as much of a specialtist as we care to be. With a little effort alot of time and patients we can pose educated questions to our doctors about new/upcoming/traditional treatments that just may push them to do some digging and with the assistance of their medical knowledge provide patients with a better quality of life. I think it is important for everyone, no matter what the issue is, to learn as much as they can, reasearch the topic, and depend on themselves to be informed and educated when talking to the doctors and not just accept whatever one person tells them. With the use of internet real world information can be exchanged. A message posted not long ago suggested a questionaire....PERFECT.....I am sure every single member of this list would love to fill out any questiontionair and even distribute it to local PD groups/hospitals...what better forum than this! We hold the world at our fingertips......LETS USE IT! My father, 76 diagnosed with PD 10 years ago, is very excited about the email I am recieving and printing out for him to read. Although he can not totaly understand how come I am talking with people all over the world re his problems he takes incredible comfort in finding out that he is not alone in his experiences and has a great deal of hope that this forum will help him. So all this to say that I am so very pleased to be a part of this list and so thankfull for those who maintain it and can not say enough about it!
