Subject: too much info

Once again, I'd like to apologize to those I've overloaded with info. I tried
breaking it up, but I guess not enough. I must disagree, however, with its
applicability to pd. The presentations included in this conference
proceedings which I posted had references to Eldepryl, DHEA, melatonin,
Alzheimer's, etc.., all of which have been discussed on this list before and
which directly apply to pd concerns. Perhaps we need the Udall Bill so that
there will be more presentations on research specifically on pd, but until
then, there is alot to learn from these related areas and their research. As
I've said many times, there is more to PD concerns than just drug dosages,
pallidotomies, fetal transplants, etc. There are many alternative treatments
which minimal discussion addresses; there are all the possible causes such as
other drugs, pesticides, etc.; there is the history of pd (by the way, the
new young onset handbook relates the first diagnosed case around 1891 or so
to possibly the industrial revolution); there are positive stories of those
living, not dying, with pd; the environmental health issues surrounding use of
pesticides; ad infinitum. I personally never want to have to worry about
getting a pallidotomy or transplant. In some ways to me they're patches
covering up the symptoms, but not dealing with the real problem, how do we
protect ourselves, our children, and our earth and its other inhabitants from
ourselves (i.e., our overuse of unnecessary toxins), and in the event we can't
do this, how do we build up our immune systems and overall health to help us
combat that which we cannot avoid. There's no easy answers, but the scope of
our focus must address much more than the usual, EVERYTHING IS RELATED, in
some way or another. I will, however, cut back on the amount of info I send
at any given time, but I don't agree on a separate discussion area. I am
purposely trying to expand the awareness of the pd related community to
address all pertinent issues. Let's focus on the cause of the problem, not
just on its manifestations. Wendy Tebay
