Bruce,

Last summer I was talking with Dr. Penn, a neurosurgeon at Rush-Presbyterian
in Chicago regarding my options. He told me about a the use of electrodes
implanted for an extended time at about the same site as where the lesion
is made in a palidotomy, that essentially when the stimulator is on creates
a temporary palidotomy. I do not know whether he or others have been doing
this clinically, but I suspect that is what your wife's neurologist is
talking about. If I get a chance later I will do a literature search.

By the way- I opted for a drug study and now that I am on active drug (after
almost certainly being on placebo for 6 months) has helped alot and bought
me some time before I am forced to make a decision about surgery.

What center are you going to?

Good luck to you and your wife-

Charlie
