Wendy,

I've begun reading Betty Friedan's latest book, The Fountain of Age,
which I received for my birthday. Its thesis is the same one you express
in your posting: let's not let aging/pd destroy our lives, but find ways
to be productive either because or in spite of it. Hear! Hear!

I've read carefully the information you sent me and have copied some of
the articles to pass on to others. A young friend who's a quadriplegic
got the one on hedgehog, and Bill H got all the info on chemicals. He
worked in a chemistry lab while studying to be a surgeon and attributes
his pd to that.

I'm especially interested in NADH and plan to talk to me doctor about it
later today. Have you discussed it with yours? I probably won't be able
to begin trying it for awhile because I'm leaving for Europe next Monday
(July 10) and will return on July 25. I'm a little apprehensive about
the trip, which was planned months ago, because on my last trip my meds
weren't working so well. I'm beginning to have more of an erratic
response, so I'm not able to depend on medication the way I used to.
That's why I'm ready to consider some alternatives, like NADH. I just
hope my doctor is a little open minded about it.

I'm mailing you a thesis I received from a young researcher which you may
find interesting. Much of the material you're probably familiar with,
but he synthesizes a lot of information and verifies it through his own
limited study. Keep up the good work!

Pat

P.S. Please excuse my errors. My new on-line service doesn't allow me
to go back in edit - or if it does, I haven't figured out how.
