Roger,

Received a packet of info via snail mail from Wendy Tebay (Rosa Bosa)
this week which included info on hedgehog. It is indeed a promising
looking molecule which may generate neurons throughout the central
nervous system. It may become an effective way of treating PD,
Alzheimer's, and spinal cord injury. I passed the info on to a young
friend who's a quadriplegic as a result of an auto accident. Sonic
hedgehog, as its called, seems to mediate the differentiation of ventral
neuronal cell types in the forebrain, thereby inducing distinct neurons.
Smart molecule!

Ontogeny, Inc. of Massachusetts is involved in developing recent
biological breakthroughs including control molecules that cause
differentiation. It is commercializing pharmaceuticals and cell
replacement for irreversible (until now!) neurodegenerative diseases.
