I don't think the person who posted the original message about recreational
drugs and PD (sorry, I can't retrieve the message) intended to say or even
implied that ALL, MANY, or MOST of the middle-aged people w/PD abused
recreational drugs in the 1960s--just that we ought to look at this as a
POSSIBLE causative factor, just as we look at diet, pesticides, environmental
"toxins," etc.
 
Don did not use cocaine, pot, heroin, LSD, or any other illegal drugs.  He
has PD.  Some of our friends or acquaintances did use some (or all) of the
above.  None of them has PD.  This anecdotal evidence from our limited
sample should not be taken as any indication that such use doesn't cause PD.
Science demands that we study any and all possibilities, not put some things
off limits because they offend our sensibilities.
