Hi everyone:

My mother is 55 years old and has had PD for 11 years now. She has come to the
U.S. from India to be screened as a potential candidate for the Pallidotomy
surgery. The doctors here think she is a good candidate given her age and
condition. She is scheduled to have the surgery by the end of July.

We would like to talk to other PD patients who have already undergone
Pallidotomy to better understand:

(a) extent of benefits of the surgery (in particular has it reduced rigidity
and slowness of movement)
(b) any side effects experienced after the surgery (in particular vision, memory
or speech problems).
(c) any serious problems after the surgery.

Since we are working within a really short time frame, we would really
appreciate it if you could respond as soon as possible (as we have to make a
decision by July 17th).

If you have any information please either E-Mail us here (or at
[log in to unmask]) or telephone us at (914) 834-5635 (please feel free to
call us collect). If you live in the Tristate area of NY/NJ/Connecticut and you
are willing to meet us we would be grateful to see you in person.

We will appreciate any information that you will be able to provide.

Thank you.
