In response to John Cottingham's "semi-flame", let me say
that I have *never* tried to suggest that people do or not
do something as far as managing their own lives. I just do
not operate that way. When a patient of mine needs an
operation, I usually wait until they *ask* for the surgery
(unless it is an emergency). Same with fava beans.

If someone wants to take a risk, that's fine with me (there
are risks to everything, including smoking, drinking,
getting a suntan, etc.). The only thing that I have wanted
to communicate is that there *is* a danger, small as it is
and people should be forewarned.

That's my $0.02.

Best,

Bob
