Joyce Perdue---I'm really appalled that the neuro treated your mother this way! Questions--soes she have a primary physician who sees her for other things? If so, is that person likely to be more understanding? Could he/she suggest another neuro, with a better attiytude? If you could post your city, perhaps others on the list would know of doctors in your area that they could recommend . I never heard of a doctor abandoning a patient --the only possible explanation that occurs to me is that this SPECIALIST expects a primary care dr. to take over when his own skills are exhausted. But what a way to do it! I would encourage you to take your mother to another neuro IF you can have some asurance that he/she will be an improve- ment over this one. As for the question about feeding tube, there have been posts which you can find in archives of list. I recall one very upbeat one that said all the family helped feed, including a grandchild, so it can;t be too hard--the patient gained and was pleased with it,I believe. Let us know how it goes--Camilla Flintermann
