I have made the same mistake on another - and much larger - listserv. Thank goodness nobody complained, for as a neophyte I would have been quite embarrassed. Takes a while to get used to these things, let alone the protocol. I forgive you Doug and all others who make such errors. Mieke p.s. I wonder if we cannot get a more compelling discussion going. Something I am very interested in and certainly haven't got any easy answers to: It is not that difficult to teach students how to organize and develop essays, but it seems to be very hard to teach students how to edit successfully.
