Don Stokes asked about hobbies---I can report that my husband, 76, who was diagnosed 6 yrs. ago, is enjoying returning to the study of German! He finds it excellent mental exercise--but I wish I could get him to exercise more _physically_ ! He also has enjoyed our computer and the several lists we subscribe to through his FREE university emeritus account. His memory often plays tricks with this newly learned skill, but if we do it together, it is rewarding for us both. Reading was always a main hobby of his, rather than sports, and as long as eyes permit it serves well. BTW, does everyone know that people with PD can qualify for the free "Library for the Blind" Services of the Library of Congress? If you love to read, but eye problems, tracking, dry eyes, etc. of PD make it hard, a doctor or social worker can sign you on. You receive a special player, lots of info re: books available on tape , free mailing back and forth of books you choose. Try it. Your local public library can give you the info needed to sign up.
