>As part of your medication, is there someone out there who takes Artane to
control the tremors. I'm taking Sinemet CR, Elderpryl and Artane. I would
like to know if your tremors are showing some sign of improvement taking
Artane. Furthermore, taking Artane do you have memory problems such as
confusion or concentration. Regards, Fred.

I've been taking Artane(Benzhexol; 6mg) and Eldepryl(Selegiline; 10mg) for well
over three years. At first the tremor disappeared and (more important) my
writing improved; no longer a spider running (or crawling) across the page. I
mentioned memory retention to my consultant about 18 months ago because
sometimes I did have problems: his reply "it might just be old age" (I was 41
!). Now I'm finding that the tremor is becoming more noticeable and difficult
to conceal at times; a real social problem. Also my writing has deteriorated
and needs my concentration; a spider with four broken legs :-)). As for memory
I am more conscious recently of losing the thread of any discussions at work or
home; not all the time but enough for colleagues and friends to notice.
I'm not sure what the next step is for me; I've resisted moving to l-dopa so
far but it looks like the only option in the near future. This list is helping
me see other options which may help me, eg exercise, therapy, alternative
medecine. I am very impressed and encouraged by the wide range of people and
experience; and everybody is helpful and friendly.
Best wishes to and everyone who contributes
