Both pallidotomy and stimulation surgery are invasive, but pallidotomy is
destructive, whereas stimulation is reversible and adjustable.  Surgery for
stimulation takes longer and is valid primarily for tremor, not for other
PD symptoms.  In our experience and according to the data, VIM is the surgery
of choice for tremor control.
 
Messing around in the brain takes faith, whatever kind of messing around is
chosen.
