Marcy, if any of us had been inclined to "turn a simple moral" out of the complicated and confusing publicity surrounding the O.J.simpson case, your thoughtful, vivid account of what it felt like to be in your university and your country when the verdict came in would surely have made it difficult to re-examine our impulses.
