I agree with what's been said--you should certainly not write him a letter and have a number of reasons why aside from his homophobia--which is the most valid reason but not one that you probably want to risk saying in public. It seems that the law people should be warned, however. It would probably be tactless to send them a backstabbing letter but the occasion may warrant it. Tough call and I'm glad I';m not making it.
