Marcy - I'm sorry to come in late on this discussion, one which I have very much appreciated from all of you. We were on fall break. But I'm left with one hard question. I, too, would tell the student that I do not write recommendation letters unless I am enthusiastic because it would be a disservice now that letters are all "good." But would I tell him why? Did you?
