Lisa Carper asked about Aviva's progress since her bilateral
pallidotomy under Dr. Iacono last March 1.

Aviva still retains much of he benefit of the procedure. Before,
she could hardly cross the room even with a cane. Today, she walks
a mile or two each day. Before, she couldn't role over in bed. Today,
no problem. Incontenance gone. Frozen face gone. Straightjacket
feeling inside the body gone. Most of the diskynesia is gone but
some has been creeping back on the right side. PD is a degenerative
disease and pallidotomy is not a cure but it does seem to be a
reliable stop-gap measure.

best,
David
