dear friends,

My name is Maya and this is my first post on this list. My mother was
recently diagnosed with PD, although weve seen the symptoms for years now.
She is 69 years old and a vegetarian all her life. Iv'e decided to foergo
conventional treatment untill Iv'e exhausted all of the alternative methods
of treatment. I have done alot of research on this particular aspect of
this disease and have come to the conclusion that there are many possible
treatments that help cope with PD without the onset of any side effects
similar to the ones that Marvin spoke about (sudden Jerks etc..).

I dont know what this NADH or Pallidotomy is but alternative doctors have
told me that once conventional medicine has started there is very little
chance of an alternative medicine having any great effect if at all.

My research has uncovered some very interesting and hard for me to spell
and pronounce names such as Nootropic herbs, Gingko Biloba, Eluthero or
Siberian Ginseng Lecitin pills combined with a good multi vitamin and of
course vitamin B6. If anyone has heard of these treatments or had any
experiences with them I would very much like to hear from you as I am going
full throtle with this AM idea.

I constantly question my judgment of putting off any conventional treatment
at this point. I am from Israel and have consulted with the most respected
neurologist about PD and he recommended for her to take doses of Eldopa.
My question is, does this "Eldopa" relieve the symptoms of PD or does it
actually prevent the disease's deterioration. I am very scared of the
side effects of conventional medication for PD considering my mother is not
strong and young to begin with. Would appreciate any advice.

Excuse my english if it is not up to par, but considering I'm an Israeli I
think I did a good job of getting my questions across

Would love feed back on my Email or to the list if you think it could be of
some help to others. My adress is [log in to unmask]

Thanks and a happy and healthy jewish new year to you all
               Maya
