Larry, I am new on internet, but Ithought I might give you a little positive support. As we know it is not easy to say anything good about PD or especially Alzheimers, but here is something to consider: many other conditions such as heart disease, and cancer,are self limiting, you know the patient will probably be gone withing a fairly predictable time frame, and you do what you can, but there is not a lot of hope. these conditions, PD and alzheimers, however MAY be curable in the near future, and meanwhile, it gives us an opportunity to spend some more time with our fathers than if they suddenly had a heart attack, or stroke, and then there is no more hope.... I now make sure to spend time with dad at least once a week. He has better days, and worse, i am sure you know how that goes, but he knows I am around and we can talk...he has evenbeen known to play his saxophone, or make a joke during a visit...
