To: Gary Crowe I too suffered for many years with rectal cramps, both before and after diagnosis of PD. I suffered for many years and received no help from family doctor (his answer was Nupercainal ointment) until a family friend who is a registered nurse told me about Bentyl tablets. My doctor approved and prescribed and they really do work. One or two tablets at onset of cramps usually stop it completely within ten minutes. Bentyl is manfactured by Lakeside Pharmaceuticals, Division of Merrell Dow. Available in tablets, capsules, syrup and injections. Hope this might be of some help to you. Check with your neurologist.
