There will be feedback squeals from such a system if the speaker is in the same room, because the mike is not directional. Before buying such a system, try it out in the store. To make this system work if the speaker is in the same room, the mike must be unidirectional (will only pick up sounds from straight in front of it) and it must have a support mechanism which holds it directly in front of the mouth. There is a pretty good fully portable system which meets all of these requirements, available from Luminaud in Mentor, Ohio for $350. Their phone number is 216-255-9082.
