To Donald K. Conley RE. PT for PD Do you need any article references on PT for PD? I can send a bibliography to the list if you'd like. To Milo Anderson RE. Falling and Gait Problems Strength and balance training improves gait speed, balance and strength (in "healthy" older adults). Strength and balance training also improves strength and balance in persons with stage 1-3 PD. Balance training used alone also improves balance in persons with stage 1-3 PD. Both training types reduce the number of falls. I am doing my dissertation on effect of strength and balance training on strength, balance and ADL in PD. I am in the middle of crunching the data. The results look interesting. I am somewhat hesitant to write about specific results on this LIST because other researchers might steal them (sigh). But I'd like to share results once I write up the manuscript and have submitted it for publication. :) I just got back from a conference in Colorado Springs (International conference on Aging and Physical Activity). I was the only researcher doing this type of therapy with PD. A lot of PT's and MD were interested in my study. I am looking for a post doctoral position in aging/parkinson's/balance-strength intervention. I'd be glad to send my CV to anyone interested. Mark Hirsch ([log in to unmask]) --
