For a compromise solution,without spending $350.00, check the toy stores!
There are many radios with sing-a-long microphones attached. They are
simple to operate, have pretty good sound and volume, and have convenient
carrying handles. The only negative feature, is most of them are brightly
colored, but I believe they start at less than $20.00!  I understand that
singing is good therapy for PD too.  Make sure the microphone will work
without the radio playing, though.
