Hi,

I received an informative message that most of you probably know
about: what the dosage numbers mean on the Sinemet medication. For
those of you who do not, below is the forwarded message. Since I am not
the Parkinson's patient, just one of the caregivers, this was informative
to me. I thank Jim Anderson for giving me this information.

Subject: Dosage Info...

It's easy to figure out the dosage when using Sinemet:

Each tablet color represents a different dosage, but be
aware that Sinemet is a combination drug, containing
both carbi-dopamine [c-dopa] and lovi-dopamine
[l-dopa] - that's why each pill has two numbers
associated with it, the first for the c-dopa, and the
second for the l-dopa.

So, the 50-200 pills contain 50 milligrams of c-dopa,
and 200 mg's of l-dopa. If breaking the tablet in half,
just divide the values by two (duh!).

Hope that this is useful.

Jim
