A QUESTION FOR ALL PARKINSONS PATIENTS AND FRIENDS:

Dave has coronary artery disease, as well as PD. The PD is fairly stable,
except for occasional falls, but he has required 3 angioplasties in less than
one year. Now he is scheduled to have a "stent" procedure next week, to try
to keep the arteries open. The stent remains in the artery indefinitely.
This procedure is usually done with coumadin (anti-coagulant) medicaton for
a month or so following surgery. Coumadin is not an option for a PD patient,
because of the frequent falls.,with uncontrolled bleeding, particularly
intracranial. So he is having a stent inserted without coumadin. Is anyone
familiar with this procedure.H e is scheduled for next Monday, and any early
replies will be appreciated. He is a retired physician himself, and has
access to many professional opinions and medical journals. But we would like
to talk to someone who is a Parkinson patient, who may also have had a STENT?
ANYONE OUT THERE? Thanks in advance. Lynn of Dave n lyn.
