Nancy, The only mention we could find about the burning was in Duvoisin's book. When we called this to the attention of the neuro that we were seeing then, he called a Dr. Jake Sage who, i believe, is associated with Dr Duvoisin. He said that they had some experience with the burning sensation. He recommended niacinamide. This had no benefit.
