The local hospital also has a speech therapist ,and that might be something for you to check on where you are. There are slo devices for extreme loss of speech, where you can type in/preprogram ona small portable electronic board. In a post on Mar.23,1995 here Nancy Solomon discussed the efficacy of speech therapy, and said that new techniques may be helpful. She urged that the questioner " have a thorough speech evaluation by a speech-language pathologist", adding that if speech cannot be improved,they"can help develop alternate methods of communication" .
