Hi Jeffrey, this is a repeat of my previous msg that got garbled by
remote electronic demons:
 
I'm a bit bemused by your recent posts concerning the state of funding
for "pure" medical research. This won't help a bit, but might be
interesting to hear that the problem is an old one. It was attacked
(but not solved) 70 years ago by Sinclair "Red" Lewis in his classic
novel, "Arrowsmith". Its literary style is a bit crude, but it
contains numerous striking parallels to today's situation. Read
again, just for fun.
