Hi to all in this group. I have recently joined the group and I am knocked out by the sharing, caring and warmth I have seen in various messages. I joined this group for a friend - Terry Slater. He is the local manager of the small Gas Station associated with the Hornby Island Co-op store. He has been diagnosed as having PD. I know very little about PD but I would like to help Terry as much as I can. He doesnt have access to e-mail. Terry asked me if I could use the net to find out more about HP200 and the "machuna" plant/beans. I am not sure of the spelling. The subject on Alternative Medicine was briefly covered by Dr. David Suzuki on his program "The Nature of Things". The beans from the "Machuna" plant are naturally high in L-Dopa and do not have any side effrects. A powder derived from the beans (called HP200) is being used (in India by Dr P.P Ashok) to successfully treat some of his Parkinsons patients. It was being investigated by a Dr. Bella Munyam (I'm not sure of the spelling) from somewhere in the States who visited India. I have not been successfull in doing net searches using various spellings of "machuna", and HP200 yields computer related stuff. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you and Merry Christmas from Hornby Island, B.C. Cheers, Basil ([log in to unmask])
