and Hello to you Diane:

I have been a care partner for over five years, and though my wife was fairly
quickly diagnosed by a most competent MD, his lack of experience with PD led
to overdosing Sinemet. That leads to dyskenesia and importantly reduces the
time span during which Sinemet can be effective, and agonists (e.g. Permax)
is needed as a synergist.
My point is that the more information you have, the more intelligently you
may be able to find a neurologist who is more experienced with PD, and can
ask more pointed questions. PD is extremely complicated and no doctor knows
it all, but they know a lot more than we do, and trust implicitly our
neurologist, cardiologist, internist, etc.
Good luck, Michel
