The observation that smoking is less common among PD patients* has many possible interpretations: a) maybe there is a gene for PD that also makes people dislike smoking, b) maybe the effects of PD suppress the desire to smoke, c) maybe something in the smoke protects against PD (I doubt it). *Morens D. et al: Neur 1995;45:1041-1051 Cheers, Joe J.
