Just wanted to report that Don left for Grenoble yesterday for "retuning" of
the electrodes (he had the stim surgery in Grenoble in June 1994). He could
have gone to a site in the US for this adjustment, but inasmuch as he had the
surgery done in Grenoble, they have his records (which they offerred to send
here), and, most important, they have the experience, he chose to return to
France. Total cost (covered by my moonlighting, not by insurance) was no more
than cost of traveling to a US site--air fare was more, but hospital and
medical MUCH less.

I told him to make sure he's tuned for extensive walking; we plan a long
backpacking trip this summer.
