I know there are many of you who know the members of the movement disorders
team at Loma Linda Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA. Finally one of t heir
members is to "practice what he preaches". I am not referring to the Rev.
Dr. Don Berns. I am referring to the 'irreverent Voo Doo Medicine Man' Tony
Schoonenberg. Tony is scheduled for a left pallidotomy (right side) at 7:30
AM tomorrow (Monday) morning.

If you have met Tony, I need say no more. If you don't know Tony, changes
are he may have influenced your life with PD anyway. He has been one of my
sources for information on uses and abuses of medicine in PD. Just off hand
here are some things that Tony has researched, observed, etc. about PD.

     Carbidopa tocity
     Sinemet cocktail
     Niacin deficiency
B6 deficiency and in general B complex deficiency

But more important, Tony has taught many how to take anti-Parkinson's
medications after pallidotomies.

Well, something is wrong with his email. So this is what I propose we do.
If you get this message today, you can send me a message to Tony.
([log in to unmask]) I will fax those messages to Dr. Iacono's office about
midnight tonight (PST). This will be there for him before he has the
surgery. I will also send a fax about 11:00 AM passing on any messages I
receive since the last fax. If you care to fax him directly, you may do
that. The fax number is (909) 824-4825.

I wish that Tony will get great benefit from the pallidotomy. It is his time
to set the clock back a little.

God speed, Tony. It doesn't hurt, Tony. It's a piece of cake, actually fun,
Tony. One question Tony, who will you call for advice after the surgery?

Alan Bonander ([log in to unmask])
