I had an evaluation meeting with Dr. Kohler (proper spelling) at the Univ. of Kansas Med. Cntr on January 9 to determine if i was a good candidate for the Pallidal Stimulation surgery. It went very well and i am on the list to have the procedure either in or through the Univ. of Kansas Med. Cntr--Kansas City sometime in the next 4-8 months. I found Dr. Kohler to be very approachable, a human being first. He asked me to tell him my story in my own words, rather than just listen to a case history taken by an assistant earlier. If i recall correctly, he *is not* a surgeon; he is the director of the Pallidal Stimulation study at the cntr.
