There was a question on the list about how to determine if your representative was already a sponsor of the Udall bill. There is a great Internet site called Thomas which provides detailed legislative information (named for Thomas Jefferson) You can access it at http://thomas.loc.gov/ To check on your representative, at the opening screen it will say "Jump to" Go down and click on "Bill summary and status" Then click on "Bill summary and status fo the 104th Congress".You can search by bill number or the keyword - Udall. Click on "run query". You will find two lisings of the bill - S684 for the Senate version and HR 1462 for the House. Click on either of these, then on "cosponsors" for a listing of sponsors in each You can also access a summary of the bill and the full text version. On Jan 22, 1996 six new House co-sponsors were listed - Reps. Olver, Kildee, N. Johnson, Volkmer, Manton and Stockman. Even if your representative is already a co- sponsor, it probably wouldn't hurt to send a letter thanking them for their support. Linda Herman [log in to unmask]
