Hello David,

Im 51, f, pd 11yrs
symptoms: occassional freezing, stiffness and toe/foot cramps (1/3 of
the month)
No tremors
Meds: 10 x L>S> + 1/2 teaspoon of Ascorbic Acid
           16 X Permax
            9 X Parlodel
            7 X Sin. CR
          2.5 X Clozaril

I met with Dr. Lang in Toronto on one of my ON periods. He couldnt recognize
the PD during the beginning of our talk but at the end I went OFF (into a
freezing state) His final advice to me was that after undergoing the
surgery I probably would be in my ON period almost all the time. THAT
SOUNDED GREAT !!!!

At the same time we learned about the DBS procedure. This sounded
interesting because I could control my OFF periods. Aside from it being
"safer and reversable"

On this list there seems to be a very positive attitude coming from patients
who have undergone either one.

My question to you and others would be...without any type of tremor...which
op sould seem to offer me the best chance of reducing my freezing and
stiffness etc.

Thanks to all and I look forward to reading all replies.
