Brenda, read ur posting on the Turkey, vry interesting. About the docs....go to the best PD specialist you can find....anywhere. In reality, you probably will not have more than 2 or 3 visits a year so a little travel shouldnt be a problem compared to the specialized knowledge he will offer. Re the meds we all take...everyones a completely different PD case. No two are the same. Almost..but not the same. Ive noticed here that 95% of us who go the the PD specialist take basically the same meds. Those who go to non specializing neurologist or dont have access to big city Movement Disorder facilities take a wide variety of different meds. Sinemet is the "gold standard" as u say but how much how often is purely experimental until you (think) you've found the rite amount and then...OOPS...time for a change. Thats our life.
