Maryellen, Can the five of you complain LOUDLY to the hospital powers-that-be about the treatment your father is (NOT) getting? Of course you can hire a special person, but that shouldn't be necesssary in the hospital. I was in just three weeks ago for a gallbladder operation, and my "roommate" was having a terrible time getting her calls answered, catheter adjusted, help to the bathroom (after catheter removal), etc. Then a friend who was visiting (and was a nurse) made loud complaints.
