I've been trying lately, more out of insatiable curiosity than any
good reason, to learn something about the geography of the brain.
My references seem to be in conflict about the precise sites, past
and present, for fetal tissue transplants. One says "striatum",
but another says the substantia nigra, which is degraded in PD,
lies in the midbrain, somewhere between the thalamus and the
medulla oblongata. If anyone out there has authoritative input
on this subject, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
