Roberta, For the Writing Competency test at Laurentian, we've set up this procedure which seems to have eliminated alot of hassle for us. Students who need more time to write must clear it with the Special Needs Office which issues the student a form on which extra time is requested (reasons or disabilities are never mentioned). This form is handed to the invigilator at the test site and these students are allowed to continue after the time limit. No special invigilators are needed. Students needing computers must also clear it with the Special Needs Office which supplies the Language Centre with the number and names of the students. Invigilators are supplied by the Special Needs Office. Students write at the same scheduled times for the test. Normand
