Now that the March 7th Symposium was such an amazing success....one thing is left...the paper work. Site coordinators need to send their numbers of attendees to the PR agency. For those who received the booklet, the form is near the back. State coordinators may want to poll their own sites and report them by their geographical area. Since Parkinsn list 'networking' played such a important part in this success, we need to get our numbers submitted. The 'bean counters' at Somerset Pharma, the U.S. source of Eldepryl will use this information in determining future educational grants for Parkinson's programs such as this. From the feedback that I've received, it was well received. We have been in the 'learning mode' with our direct involvment with the PR agency, APDA, NPF and PDF. I was pleasantly suprised with the cooperation that these organizations provided the Parkinsn list in sharing site information. An enlightning fact....what many including myself had attributed to 'politics' was really a lack of understanding of what the national organizations are...a loose 'association' of institutions who offer movement disorder services in their geographical areas. 'Spur of the moment' symposiums such as the March 7th Symposium, conflicted with some local symposiums previously planned so not all areas participated. Their lack of participation wasn't due to lack of want but because they had already signed contracts and spent money to promote their own program. Parkinsn List members, thanks for pulling together and making the March 7th Symposium the success, it was. I hope that Jerry Schwartz will advise the list when the Symposium will be shown on Canadian television. Thanks Jerry!
