I thought of the same thing (or got the idea from someone else - don't
remember). Last year the Wall Streeet Journal had an article basedd on
similar idea ( negative impacct on emplyers = bad, will soon be gettting
worse - re employees whose work are affected due to their time attention and
energy being drawn by concerns of disabled parent or other family member who
is ill/disabled). My PD was starting a downhill plunge about that time - so I
couldn't follow up on it... sent the article t o PAN by FAX - can't find
thearticle in my terrible PD files with terrible PD hands right now. It was
last year Fall or Winter (?) all I have a a couple notes on the actiion:
Follows:

My notes indicate that the article reflected:

"8 billion is the current cost of caregiver responsibilities on employers,
and this cost will increase"

The article cited more sources for info.

The article cited the problem would cause more risk of discrimmination
against employees affected by illness or disabilities.

The article anticipated the effect of baby boomers - triple by year 2050.

The article directly warned the emplooyers of the upcomming negetive effects
- try to anticipate expense.

The study indicated cost of one carergiver in family to employer was $3,142.

Sorry, that's all I wrote on my notes. Maybe PAN can help locate the article
(?) Or Wall Streeet Journa;? or Other reports?

good luck
