Ernie,

My husband Fuad retired last April. Before his retirement the stress was
more than he could handle most of the time and the PD seemed to get worse
every day. He even developed "shingles" from the extreme stress. I believe
that PD is worsened by stress but also that individuals with PD tend to over
react and therefore make a situation more stressful than it really needs to be.

Regarding your inquiry about the Eldepryl, Fuad's neurologist suggested that
he eliminate it last fall. Similar to your results, after 60 to 90 days the
PD symptoms were much worse and less controlable, so he resumed taking it.
In just three days we saw a dramatic improvement. I believe the positive
help that it gives out weighs the other. The improved quality of his life
lessens further stress and he can function better all the way around.

I know that the decisions are hard to make, but we all have to look at what
is acceptable to us as individuals. Good luck in your decision.
