Hello---I just returned from a visit to Mayo's in Minnesota. My PD neuro
advised me
he is not prescribing Eldepryl any longer. He reports the British study plus
two others subsequent, fail to demonstrate it's medicinal value in PD. One
must remember medicine is not an exact science, however this parky is glad to
be off this drug. It also saves $4.00 per day.
Also he stressed the importance of taking Sinemet on an empty stomach. Like
wise a low protein diet is best since protein tends to compete with levodopa
for absorption into the system through the lower intestine. In my case he
prescribed
Crispride to assist in emptying the stomach sooner after eating. You take it
15 minutes prior to a meal.
That's the latest from this Kalamazoo parky.
