The physiology professor here at the college tells me that fat soluble
ones do cross the blood-brain barrier and even the water soluble ones do
if the molecule is small, e.g. the glucose molecule passes the
blood-brain barrier even tho water soluble because it is a small
molecule. I will assume that means that vitamin E which is a good
antioxident and fat soluble will pass the blood-brain barrier. Also
vitamin C which is water soluble but is a smaller molecule than glucose
will pass through the blood-brain barrier. Another excellent antioxident
is a product called pycnogenol and a related material which is made from
grape seeds is available in health food stores, however I know nothing
about the molecular size. I hope this helps answer the question.
