Rick Fagin from Cincinnati has been told that his efforts and those
of others from Ohio have paid off. Senator DeWine has agreed to
become a cosponsor. That now makes 10 of 16 on Kassebaum's
committee cosponsoring the Udall Bill. This may/should be
sufficient to get the Bill out of committee and on to the Senate
floor where we have 35 cosponsors. It's not over until it's over in
the Senate, but with the narrow time window available this year we
should focus now on the House of Representatives.

If you have been thinking that you should help this
cause or if you have already been active, now is the time when you
can really have impact. It is a lot easier to contact and visit your
Congressman than to see a Senator. my wife and I visited 8
Pennsylvania Congressman in two days and signed on 5 as cosponsors.
Most of those we simply had to ask and they said yes. Call their district
office and make an appointment to see your Congressman. Sometimes you must
first see one of their aides.

Whether your Congressman is a cosponsor or not, contract them and
voice your support of the Udall Bill. It is important to maintain contact
with those who are already cosponsors. Tell them of the progress we've made.
Also it's worth noting that Pennsylvania Congressman Joe McDade, a 17
term Republican, announced recently that he has Parkinson's. This
brings Parkinson's home to the Congressman when one of their colleagues now has it.

Don't put this off. We can get this bill passed, but we need the
help of everyone who has Parkinson's or has a friend or loved one
with Parkinson's. Now is the time. You can make a difference. In this
world it's still the squeaky wheel which gets the oil. If you need
