Thanks to everyone who responded to my questions yesterday about the
interaction between Elderpryl and Demerol.

Dad's doing much better, now that the Demerol's out of his system, and he's
wearing a big red bracelet that says NO DEMEROL. Now, if we could just get
the nurses to follow the instructions about his other medications! Mom
spent some time arguing with the nurse last night about what he was to
receive at dinnertime. Even after the nurse got "the book" and saw what the
doctor had written, there was reluctance, because "we always dispense this
BEFORE meals, not with meals". (Dad does better, for some reason, taking
his sinemet with food, than without -- without the food he gets, as Mom puts
it, "a bit testy".) Fortunately, Dad recognizes his medications, and will
not take anything other than what he is expecting. The general feeling for
all of us is that he'd rather take too little, than too much. We've
experienced the hell of over-medication.

Anyway, that's a long-winded way of saying thanks to all, both for the quick
answers to my questions, and just the comforting knowledge that y'all are
there for me to turn to. . .
