This discussion grows ambiguous because "a degree" seems to signify
both a bachelor's degree and any degree. It would help me if, when
someone writes that such-and-such university or college offers a
degree in three years, they would say whether that degree was
considered a bachelor's degree and whether it comprised the amount of
study normally involved in getting a bachelor's degree.

Interesting that a group of language specialists like us should ask
ourselves what seems to be a straightforward question but which turns
out to have two ambiguous terms (i.e., "three years" and "a degree").
